Community activism: As part of the IB curriculum, students develop a community action plan to address an issue affecting the lives of people in our community in line with UN sustainability goals. We work with local community leaders and arrange volunteer opportunities for students to form positive connections with the people in Bhopal while also developing their cooperation and teamwork skills with their classmates. Students see how their plans and actions can have a direct, positive effect on their communities, and they are inspired by community leaders to make volunteering and activism a part of their every day life.

Sports clubs: Our state-of-the-art facilities give students the resources they need to be physically active and develop cooperative and social skills. Student-driven practices and hourly sign-ups allow students to determine how they exercise.

The Arts: Student-created clubs include drama, music, dance, and visual arts. Students set individual and group goals and – along with a faculty advisor – devise a plan for their artistic development. Students assess their own progress and develop self-regulated learning skills along with creativity and confidence.

Technology: Our facilities allow students to study robotics and programming in class and on their own as part of a student-driven technology club. With faculty supervision, Bhopal International School students have participated in robotics and coding competitions across India.

Nature and the outdoors: Many of our students and faculty love hiking, swimming, and canoeing. Monthly trips arranged by faculty advisors give students the chance to explore the natural world and reflect on their experience with their classmates.
